The neighbourhood of La Presle is a favoured enclave within the renowned Fleurie appellation and it is here that Patrice Barraud cultivates 4 ha of 50-year-old Gamay vines. The vines are situated on the highly sought after “La Madone” hillside, the best vineyards in Fleurie, lying at 400 metres altitude.
The age of the vines and the high calibre of the terroir (mainly granite soil) produce an intensely fruit-driven, well-rounded Fleurie with fine vitality. The Fleurie that Patrice so lovingly produces reflects this fine granite soil vineyard site with individuality and true authenticity.
