Edouard Massart is located in Chateau-Thébaud at the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation and some 20 minutes away from the city of Nantes.
Vines have been cultivated here since 1900, with the average vine age being 50 years. Soils here are a mix of light hillside scree, granite and schist as well as sandstone and grano-diorite... from the Armorican Massif. A wide variety of terroirs results. Clair Moreau, the previous and sole owner of these vineyards (inherited from his grandfather), entered into a partnership with Edouard Massart in 2013. Both vignerons share the same passion of crafting quality, authentically expressive wines. The total vineyard holdings amount to almost 20 hectares. Edouard juggles his life as a vigneron with his other passion of marathon running!
