What is Natural wine? Read to find out all about what makes a wine natural.
Ever since the 17th century, the quaysides of Cognac and Jarnac, bordering the river Charente, have handled the shipping of barrels of the most prestigious “aqua vitae” of all- Cognac. The Daniel Bouju distillery is located in the beautiful village of Saint Preuil in the heart of the Grande Champagne area (the Premier Grand Cru of Cognac). Comprising just 14 hectares of vines this exemplary artisan domaine is totally independent from the big Cognac houses. Its Cognac is produced using very small 16-hectolitre stills, which are perfect for making spirits rich in fruit. The Bouju Cognac is aged in new French oak barrels from the Limousin (for as much as 80 years for the Reserve Familiale), which ensures that Bouju Cognac offers a fine aromatic scent, a dark rich colour and a smooth aftertaste on the finale.
