Pinot Meunier
A grape known for its use in Champagne blends, Meunier in French translates as 'miller' which refers to the flowery underside of the vine leaves.
Sharing the same DNA as Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir this grape grows better in cooler areas than the other two, which makes it a great grape to have in the blend of Champagne as it can be more reliable than the other styles if there is a bad vintage or crop.
On its own this grape gives varietal aromas of confected fruits and slightly smoky flavours.
