Mourvedre
Mourvedre is also known as Monastrell in native Spain, Australia and California. Grown all around the western Mediterranean for centuries.
In France it's a key variety in both Provence and Southern Rhone and a regular component of Chateauneuf de Pape and Rhone blends.
This variety has very strong tannins making it a perfect grape to add to more fruiter style varieties to give body and texture.
