An unsung hero, this grape produces some of the most famous dessert wines (sauternes) but also is a classic style normally blended with Sauvignon Blanc or Muscadelle.
This grapes home is Bordeaux but can also be found in the United States, New Zealand as well as Chile and South Africa.
As a sweet wine this wine can display flavours of apricot, peach and nectarine with secondary notes of nut, honey and citrus.
Whereas a dry style the wine lacks acidity but has lots of weight so to balance is paired with higher acidity styles such as Sauvignon to enhance the fruitiness of this wine.
