Melon de Bourgogne
A grape that is known for being synonymous with Muscadet - grown in the Loire valley after being thrown out as a style to be used in Burgundy in 1709.
This early budding, vigorously growing grape is very susceptible to frost which can wipe out the years growth if not monitored, however when successfully grown this grape provides a great wine with apple and citrus notes with hints of minerality on the finish.
Can be made as a still dry style or used in the production of Crémant.
