Sauvignon Blanc grapes were sourced from a single vineyard site on the banks of the Awatere River.
The grapes were harvested in the early hours of the morning to retain crisp varietal character. Pinot Noir grapes were hand picked and hand sorted.
Very gently pressed the wines were blended 94% Sauvignon Blanc, 6% Pinot Noir to accentuate pure aromatics.
Vibrant pale strawberry in colour. Ripe tropical fruit on the nose with notes of vanilla pod, oriental spice and bell pepper. The palate is packed full of cranberry and mulberry fruit characters and vibrant mouth-watering acidity, making this wine incredibly moreish and drinkable.
At Snapper Rock we source fruit from two of New Zealand's most famous wine producing areas, Marlborough, at the top of the South Island and the Hawkes Bay, on the east coast of the North Island.
Hawkes Bay’s alluvial plains, high sunshine hours and long ripening season create the ideal terroir for full bodied reds and it’s become a magnet for wine tourism.
Marlborough’s rolling valleys carved by ancient riverbeds and bright, long summer days with cool nights are ideal for the production of crisp, zesty whites and suave cool climate reds. Sauvignon Blanc propelled Marlborough onto the international stage and has ensured rapid growth over the last twenty years. We’re one of a small bevy of boutique producers tending special blocks within the valleys, always looking to unleash Marlborough’s potential, and crafting wines of the land, pure, taut and focused.
