Domaine Georges Millerioux own 17 hectares in Amigny (2 miles from Sancerre) on clay-limestone soils, fragmented in different part of the appellation. Since 2008, Nicolas, the son, is back on his land. The eye and hands are onto the vines and his Iphone never far away.
The giant pretends with a casual air to produce elegant and fine nice wines. His Sancerre Blanc Tradition shows the full characteristics and purity of the appellation with notes of boxwood, lemon and hints of fresh almonds on the nose. The palate is fresh, crisp with good acidity, which lift the zesty fruit and freshness.
His reserve Pinot Noir aged 6 months in oak, provides red berry fruits, a touch of cocoa powder, freshness and a slightly spicy finish. Some very good examples of Sancerre made by a very young wine maker.
