60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot
This Haut-Médoc has an intense dark colour and offers a bouquet reminiscent of ripe black cherry.
Average age of vines - 25 years old
The medium-bodied palate is well balanced with ripe, sculpted tannins so much a part of traditional Médoc wines.
Ideal with red meat, duck breast and game.
The Brousseau family founded their domaine in Haut Cateau Coteau in 1908. Today, five generations later and following a number of acquisitions, the vineyard comprises 25 hectares in total.
The numerous plots of vines are spread over three villages: Saint Estephe, famous for its highly sought-after Grand Cru Classes, Saint Seurin de Cadourne and Vertheuil.
Sourced exclusively from five hectares of vines in Cadourne and Vertheuil on clay and chalky soils. Planted to a density of 8200 vines per hectare, with the average age of vines being 25 years. After three weeks of maceration on the skins the wine is aged for one year in stainless steel tanks.
