Rioja
Based in Northern Spain - Rioja is one of the most well known areas in wine production. A region that has 91% red varieties planted. These are Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo (Carignan) the white styles are Viura, Malvasia and Chardonnay.
Rioja has 3 sub regions - these regions all produce slightly different styles of Rioja as the terroir and climate varies slightly in these.
These are Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa, Rioja Oriental.
