“A red Bandol that fully lives up to the revered reputation of this tiny enclave of vines nestled on the coast just outside the city of Toulon. The limestone dominated soils ensure that the wines are endowed with structure and yet elegance. This striking red wine maybe heady and rich yet it retains sufficient freshness throughout. Deep, dark spiced wild herbs and autumnal fruit combine seamlessly with notes of faded rose, leather and damson plum. The sculpted tannins provide ample structure yet do not dominate the luxurious, powerful fruit. A wine to savour.” Neil Sommerfelt - Master of Wine

“A beautifully balanced Brut Champagne offering an elegantly expressive bouquet of pale floral notes and subtle hints of brioche and breadcrust. The creamy, refined palate adds to the sense of harmony, style and finesse. The dosage of 9g/l is perfectly judged in order for this excellent Réserve Champagne to provide ideal apéritif enjoyment.” Neil Sommerfelt / Master of Wine

Located in the Gard, 10km south of Lirac, the tiny village of Estezargues (384 habitants) has been dedicated to producing wine for centuries. In 1965, eight winemakers decided to create "La Cave des Vignerons" in order to share their passion for winemaking. They decided to produce wines, which are representative of the local land, using local grape varieties while respecting the environment by following a restrained viticulture "lutte raisonnee" for nearly 50 years.
Vinify without sulphites at low temperature and they neither filtrate their wines nor fining them. The resulting wines are full of fruit and sun, thanks to the warm Mediterranean weather and low yield.
100% Chenin Blanc
Semi-dry Chenin Blanc (18 grs of residual sugar) from flint and clay soils. Alcoholic fermented in stainless vats with temperature control. Maturing on fine lees for 7 months then bottling in early April to preserve the freshness and natural aroma of the wine.
Ideal with blue cheeses and Asian food such as Thai cuisine. A cuvee named after the patron saint of England to who the church next to the vine plot is dedicated. What could be better than Cuvee St Georges enjoyed along with the country’s national dish – a sumptuous and spicy curry.
