The particularity of this soil gives these wines a minerality and a characteristic lemony note. This cuvee comes in three different labels: two of each in a case of 6, which symbolise terroir, wine and man.

A warm summer allowed the grapes to ripen perfectly and the cool Marlborough nights harnessed the acidity to give definition to the wine. Harvested in the early hours of the morning to preserve fruit purity. The grapes were slowly and gently pressed. After a cool, long fermentation the wine was aged on fine lees for 6 weeks to allow the natural weight of the wine to develop.

There are now plantings of Viognier in Languedoc and even in various other countries but this grape’s spiritual homeland is in Condrieu – where the finest Viogniers are produced from just over 100 hectares of vineyards. The wines are dry with a wonderful floral nose of peaches, apricots, violets and pears with low acidity.
