Presentation by Marie-Francoise Garcia, Owner of Domaine E. Petre
Domaine E. Petre is a unique Corsican vineyard...
Located on the Rotani plateau along the Aleria-Corte route in the Tavignano Valley, Domaine E. Petre has deep roots in Corsica’s winemaking tradition. The vineyard’s first vines were planted by my father in 1970. In 2009, my husband, Pierre, retired from his career as a dental surgeon and dedicated himself to revitalizing the estate, restructuring the vineyard with a planting density of 6,000 vines per hectare over 1.5 hectares.
As the smallest estate in Corsica to produce all three wine colors—red, white, and rosé—Domaine E. Petre combines artisanal methods with modern techniques. Our red wine is crafted traditionally in an open concrete vat, known as a "palmentu," followed by six months of aging in oak barrels. For our white and rosé wines, we embrace modern winemaking technology to bring out their unique qualities.
